Week 13 - Our First Eggplant

Hey Everyone! Neil and I are gearing up for our trip to Crivitz in 2 weeks, and are very excited to see the Wisconsin Clan!  Things are going crazy at Perry St. Gardens - In fact, everything just keeps growing and growing. I picked our very first eggplant last night and made a delicious Eggplant Parmesan for dinner. I am sharing the herbs, and I am sure that in a few weeks time, we are going to be everyone's favorite people in regards to produce!

Forgot to take an all over photo of the garden today, BUT here are some photos of how things are coming along:

Tomatoes are going CRAZY!

Just a small photo of all of our fabulous tomatoes coming up!

Eggplant with new purple flowers for the border!

Peppers and CRAZY Marigolds

Marigolds from a different angle - they are about 4 ft tall now

Butternut Squash has taken over!
Cucumber also making its mark

Herbs are still growing!
On a side note, the Aurora movie theater shooting was at a theater that Neil, my sister and myself never go to, however it is a very tragic and senseless act of evil.  We are very sad for all the families affected by the shooting. Anything that happens like this is tragic anywhere, but people in Colorado are particularly sensitive to mass shootings. We are sending good vibes to the people affected today.  Hope you guys do to!

Week 11 - Look at our garden grow!

Hey Everyone - sorry it has taken so long to post (again)! I was in Chicago for a week in June, Amsterdam for another week, and Napa/Lafayette for a long weekend. I was literally home for only 15 days in the month of June.  Therefore, Neil gets all the credit for our ever-growing garden.  With temperatures hitting 100+ degrees here in Denver several days in a row, Neil was a genius, and purchased soaker hoses for the garden. This has helped everything tremendously.

Our marigolds are out of control, we are starting to see our flowers turn into vegetables, and are finally picking some tomatoes.  Neil and I did massive weeding on the 4th of July, so you guys can see the garden in a much prettier state.  I also did something fun, and did some side by side photos in this post of Week 7 versus Week 11 photos - check it out below. I took all of the photos this morning before work, so the light is a bit different than the afternoon photos of Week 7.

Neil and I also accomplished some wedding venue shopping this month in Napa, and may have our site picked out. We are still waiting to hear on the dates, but keep your calendars open for September of next year!
